Yes it's Mods & Rockers Festival Number Nine. How we reached the grand old age of Nine is a story for another time... Right now we are just thrilled that we have yet another grand festival lined up for this summer. This year's celebration spans two weeks and presents 31 films and shorts - plus one very special concert. The festival includes a slew of premieres, anniversary screenings and one or two reprise presentations of festival favorites that you've requested we screen again. And of course there are special guests galore. We are also presenting two completely free film screenings on the July 4th holiday weekend! You will find full details of all the festival events on this website. Also details of theatre location, box office times, parking tips etc etc And you can buy tickets for all the programs online with just a click. (Except for the free events! For those - you just show up!) An important part of the Mods & Rockers experience is our FREE-ADMISSION Private Clubhouse next door to the Egyptian Theatre. It's open from the end of the last film of the night till 2:00am. Most festival nights except Sundays. Drinks at regular bar prices. A great place to hang out after the movies - with each night's musical theme reflecting that evening's movies. Click here for the full Clubhouse schedule. For example - if you've just seen a Pink Floyd or Beatles film - the background music playing in the club will continue that musical vibe. Our star guests usually come by for a nightcap and a chance to chat with festival-goers. And more often than not - they stay for a late-night jam. Stars who have got on stage for an unplanned late-night jam in the past 12 months include Donovan, Eric Burdon - and all four members of The Rutles! We've also had great shows from The Strawberry Alarm Clock and The Ravers!
The crown jewel of this year's festival - alongside the two-night tribute to Neil Innes - is a marathon salute to America's popular music - very aptly presented over the July 4th weekend as a celebration of America's birthday. It is the US Theatrical Premiere of Tony Palmer's 1977 masterpiece "All You Need Is Love" - 17 films that celebrate every major musical genre - and featuring virtually every major American music star of the 20th Century. Tickets for the marathon may be purchased by individual program. There is also a Series Ticket for the entire weekend available at a substantial (30%) discount - and this purchase includes a FREE DVD of one of the films in the series. So start browsing the festival website and feast on the cinematic and musical goodies we are presenting this year. And take advantage of our one-click ticket buying option to purchase tickets before they sell out! The Mods & Rockers rock on!
